OCD and Eating Disorders: A Clinician Panel Discussion
I am so looking forward to participating in an upcoming clinician panel hosted by OCD Anxiety Centers focused on the intersection of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and eating disorders.
These conditions frequently overlap in clinical practice, yet the relationship between compulsivity, anxiety, and disordered eating behaviors can be complex to understand and treat. The panel will explore integrated perspectives on assessment and treatment when OCD and eating disorders coexist.
I will be joining Andrew Cohen, LMFT and Jackie Shapin, LMFT, with the discussion moderated by Dr. Anna Cho, Program Director at OCD Anxiety Centers.
Panel Topic
Integrated Perspectives on Eating Disorders and OCD
The discussion will focus on clinical themes such as:
How OCD symptoms can present within eating disorder behaviors
The role of compulsivity and intrusive thoughts in both conditions
Treatment considerations when OCD and eating disorders occur together
Integrated approaches that support long-term recovery
Events like this offer an opportunity for clinicians to connect and discuss the complexities that arise when treating overlapping mental health conditions.
